PROPERTIES:

Antiallergic agent: allergic reaction inhibitor. In experimental animals, cetirizine exhibits an anti-HI .activity withoüt any significant anticholinerqic and antiserotonin effects. At  pharmacologically active doses,neither sedation nor behavioural modifications. Cetirizine exhibits a powerful and lasting antagonistic effrct particularly selective at the level of the HI-receptors. In human, pharmacology, its peripheral actiyity is  demonstrated by the clearly significant inhibition of:the immediate wheal ancHlare reaction induced by intracutaneous injection of histamine.

the endogenous histamine released in vivo as a result of stirnulation by 48/80.the immediate allergic skin reaction triggered by an intracutaneous injection of  pollen.

 the oedematous skin reaction induced by substance P or VIP, (vasoactive intestinal polypeptide).

 the:immediate allergic nasal reaction triggered by instillation of an allergen.

 It substantially reduces the asthmatic patient's bronchial hyper reactivity to histamine. It  specifically opposes the migration of eosinophils Induced in atomc subjects. These effects •are achieved' without any central effect being objectively demonstrated neither by  psyqhometric tests nor by quantified EEG. A 1 0 mg intake of cetirtzine produces a blood peak of about 0.3wg/rnlbetween the 30"' and the 60th minute. Its plasma half-life time is  appr,oximately 1 1 hours. Its renal clearance is 30 ml/mln and the half-excretion timo is about 9 hours. Cetirizine is strongly linked to plasma proteins.

INDICATIONS:

 Basic treatment of seasonel rhinitis & conjunctivitis, perennial allergic rhinitis. pruritus &   urtucaria of allergic origin. Rigix '9 is also indicated for the symptomatic Relief from: sneezing, runny nose, itchy & watery eyes, itchy nose or throat Itching, dermatitis, eczema.

DOSAGE:

Rigi)C oral sÖlution can be taken without regard to food consumption.

For Oral Solution:

Children 6 months to <2 years tor.Perenniat Allergic Rhinitis & 

Chronic Urticaria: 2:5mg (1/2 teaspoon) once daiiy.

Children 2 to 5 years fpr Chronic Urticaria:

2,5rng (1/2 teaspoon) once daily.

Children 6 years & above:

2 teaspoonfuls once daily or 1 teaspoonful twice daily:

jsorb the calcium, minerals and phosphorus

 

خوراک:

SIDE EFFECTS OF RIGIX:

 As far as adverse reactiöns are concerned, cetirizine administered in recommended doses does not differ from placebo.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:

At therapeutical doses•, cetirizine does .not potentiate the effects of alcohol (for a blQöd concentratio-n of 0.8g/L). However, caution is imperative.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION:

Tehtological studies carried out in-animals did not evidence any particular malformation..   However, as a precaution, cetirizine should not be administered to pregnant women during.

 

the peiiod of organogenesis. The same applies to lactation period.

DRIVING OR OPERATING MACHINERY:

. However, the patient should be advised not to exceed these doses afid to be cautious in this respec!.

OVER DOSAGE:

(Sedation may be a symptom of over dosage; it appears from single dose of 50mg. There is no specific antidote to date. It is advisable to follow general support treatments   involving a frequent control •of vital functions.
